ROBOTICS- what kept me alive during the first year of my B.Tech

"MACHINES RULE THE WORLD...AND I RULE THE MACHINES" this was the tagline of a 'big guy' in one of the tech.fests my team attended during the first year..well, i agree that we started off bit late [:(] with our own 'Chakravyuh'(techfest of ITER) over..but still we managed to hit boards at 'Kritansh-09'(techfest of KIIT) and 'Pravah-09'(techfest of NIT,Jmsp).

HOW IT ALL STARTED!!
the credit would actually go to Anupam and somewhat Siddhant for the initial steps..i remember being little depressed during the days before it all started and badly needed somthing to get my hands on.though robotics was in some part of our mind since a few months, but we required somthing to actually ignite the fire..:)once Bhudev also agreed in..we were off to start!! and what better event to start with when 'Kritansh' was a week away?Yeah..so we were set...tightening our seatbelts to begin the journey..:)the headquaters cum workshop of our team was room.214 in hostel-2...what an atmosphere!!

KRITANSH'09- our first venture : hmm..so lots of huffing-puffing got us into 'true engineers' mode. our group officially had four members but Debdutt, Sandeep and Chirag were ones we relied largely upon to help us with the whole task..Applications (with much pleading) to allow us to return into the hostel late, frowns or sarcastic smiles among teammembers, skipping off the awful hostel meals, two straight sleepless nights and what not..finally got us to this:

And then Anupam and I where selected by chits to represent the team in its first venture..then comes one of the best part...

Naming the team: tough work..how do you find a name which fits the team the best and also 'scares' the opponents..hmm..i remember..we were on our way to the techfest and were not getting any name whatsoever..then I and Anupam decided to take help from the Bhubaneswar city hoardings and started looking both sides of the road..not to miss any single name which might be chosen to represent our bot..that was when we spotted a hoarding which had the word 'naxatra' Heyy!! thats what we were searching for..and thus named our bot 'NAXATRA'.

So,..i guess that was it..we took part in techfests..did somewhat well as beginners but sadly couldn't make ne mark in the first year..just hoping we win this year and though we have got some things to hold us{sadly} but i guess we will come over it..
